WASHINGTON (AFP) ? Actor Rob Lowe played a communications aide to a Democratic president in the television hit "The West Wing" -- but now his son will do a turn as a real-life intern in the office of a prominent Republican.
Edward Matthew Lowe, 17, starts next week in the office of Republican House Majority Leader Eric Cantor, a frequent critic of Democratic President Barack Obama, according to news reports confirmed on Friday by Cantor's office.
Cantor, from Virginia, is the second-ranking Republican member of the House of Representatives after House speaker John Boehner.
